Our BBC correspondent recently reported from earthquake ravaged L’Aquila in Italy where he witnessed the extent of devastation to this picturesque and ancient town. on April 6, 2009, at 01:32 GMT an earthquake of 6.3 magnitude struck central Italy with its epicentre near L’Aquila. Many buildings in L’Aquila were damaged and many historic buildings collapsed in the centre of the city and at least 294 people were killed. Chris is a reporter for the BBC based in Brussels.
