Sam looks forward to another weekend and puts out the offer to budding poets that they can have their poems looked at by Sam. Listen to find out how.
Sam reads out some great poems from an anthology called ‘Good Business’ based around some of the more commercial aspects of Wellington City. Have a listen and perhaps a laugh!

Sam is back from his tour with David Kilgour and the Heavy 8. Home is good and he has had time to catch up with some european poets and he shares them with us.

Sam pays tribute to his friend Alistair Te Ariki Campbell who passed away recently. Alistair was a poet, novelist and playwright of Cook Island and European descent with an extraordinary and interesting life story. In a moving tribute Sam shares a couple of Alistair’s poems.

Sam discovers some poetic gems on YouTube, gives us some Yates and sets the tone for a great weekend.

It’s foggy at Sam’s place today so we dig through the mists of time and discover a heist story from Sam’s trip to the Naki last year. We hear a poem called ‘No Exit’, a few more lines from falling away from blue and one for a misty day.

Back in the Kaipara Sam tells us how last week’s tour went and promises a few more dates with David Kilgour and band. He’s also found a poetry blog he fancies called falling away from blue.

It’s Poetry Day today and Sam is in the Hawkes Bay at another sold out performance. But before that he has to go for a ride in a cherry picker to pose in front of some loaves of bread. Puzzled? Let Sam Hunt explain.

Sam selects a poem from his new Baxter collection, talks fast cars, muses about romantic poetry, shares one from John Keats and tells us that hes purchased himself a wee plot of land and made up a new poem about it.

Sam says he’s been hearing Kiwi birds near his home on the Kaipara and ponders how they’ve been getting round. He also reads a poem from a new collection taking his fancy.
